Tombstone and the wineries were an incredible experience, but it was time to move on. We headed back to Phoenix to catch up with friends over lunch and restock supplies for the upcoming week of off-the-grid adventures. This week's journey took us to Roosevelt Lake, Payson, AZ, and the BLM lands near Mormon Lake, ultimately leading us back to Flagstaff as we prepared for the Overland Expo West. One of the unexpected highlights of our trip was discovering the Tonto Natural Bridge State Park near Payson. This hidden gem, nestled in a lush canyon, boasts the world’s largest natural travertine bridge. We spent hours exploring the trails, marveling at the sheer size of the bridge and the cascading waterfalls below. It was a serene escape that perfectly balanced adventure with nature’s beauty, leaving us refreshed and inspired for the next leg of our journey.
